• WellCoaches Health & Wellness Coach
Linda Abel is an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified Personal Trainer with over fifteen years of experience. She is also a Wellcoaches trained Health and Wellness coach (a training program that is the gold standard in the industry and is endorsed by ACSM); health and wellness coaching is a relatively new genre; as its focus is on removing the “expert hat” off the instructor and meeting each client where they are in life; in order to facilitate the process of goal development through goal achievement i.e. increased energy, increased motivation, sleep improvement and exercise and healthy nutrition implementation and adherence.
Linda’s goal as a personal trainer is to promote adherence and self-reliance to exercising in her clients. She does this by ensuring that her clients are mentally present and mindful not only during the course of the entire session but on a movement by movement basis- this ensures that proper form is employed, and the mind and body are connected-in the end, her goal is to have the exercise stimulus become the reward; therefore, weight loss and/or muscle develop are then byproducts.
Her ability to improvise and vary routines ensures that her clients remain interested, challenged and successful at reaching their Fitness and Wellness goals. She participates in and is knowledgeable about meditation, healthy nutrition and special diets; overcoming plateaus, increasing energy, increasing motivation, sleep improvement and curing food cravings and addiction.
She eats a gluten free, soy free, sugar free and an anti-Candida diet; and has been able to overcome her cravings for sweet and salty foods. Linda is knowledgeable in and effective at using Exercise and Food as Medicine.
Linda was born and raised in Boston, MA. She is an avid hiker and a leader with the Blue hills Hiking Club and the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC); she is also an avid road cyclist.
