Class Description

Yoga for Runners will be an-hour long class with a focus on 3 areas – flexibility, balance, and strength – to help you race smarter and faster.  This class will target the lower body, areas that are most impacted by running, such as hamstrings, hips, and IT bands.  The goal of this class is to address muscle imbalances, help to avoid injuries, and overall help to make you stronger.  This is an all-levels class and non-runners are welcome to join as well.


Leah Lammer Bio

I’m both a runner and a yogi.  I started doing yoga over 10 years ago when I was looking for a compliment to running. I’ve been a runner since I was 13 and as I have gotten older, I realized I needed to do something that also provided strengthening and flexibility.  My practice has evolved over the last decade and led to me to do my 200 hour teacher training at JP Centre Yoga in 2017.  In terms of my running career, I have run four marathons including Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, and Boston with plans to do London this upcoming spring.  I also have the benefit of bringing my day job into my yoga teaching.  I work as a Nurse Practitioner and have been in Orthopedics for the last 10 years, first as a nurse and now as a Nurse Practitioner.  I have a deeper understanding of anatomy and how injuries can impact body mechanics.
